StormCon 2011 begins next week in Anaheim, as many of you who are attending are aware. For those sitting on the rail, there is still time to sign up for many of the events. Among the highlights that are open to all attendees:
At the Opening General Session on Tuesday morning, August 23, five panelists from various areas of stormwater management will discuss “Changing the Rules: How Will New Stormwater Regulations Affect Municipal Programs?”
The panel includes
• Paul Crabtree, P.E., president of Crabtree Group Inc.
• Michael Harding, CPESC, of GeoSyntec Consultants
• Anna Lantin, P.E., CPESC, CPSWQ, vice president with RBF Consulting
• Roger C. Sutherland, P.E., of AMEC Earth & Environmental
• Glenn R. Rink, president and CEO of AbTech Industries, who will moderate the panel discussion
The popular EPA session is back—a chance to hear the latest news from the Environmental Protection Agency straight from the source and to ask questions. This year, Jeremy Bauer, an environmental scientist with USEPA’s Office of Wastewater Management, Water Permits Division, will give a talk titled “Overview of EPA Stormwater Rulemaking Proposal,” followed by questions from the audience. This session will take place on Wednesday, August 24, at 2 p.m.
The regular StormCon presentations will take place Tuesday through Thursday, with presentations in seven tracks: BMP Case Studies, Green Infrastructure, Stormwater Program Management, Water-Quality Monitoring, Advanced Research Topics, Erosion and Sediment Control, and Industrial Stormwater Management. The Coastal Protection Symposium, a new component of StormCon this year, will take place on Wednesday, August 24.
