Waste Crete Systems Announces The New Envirowash
Introducing the only closed-loop concrete washout solution that prevents nearly 90% of rainwater and groundwater contamination.
Waste Crete Systems, LLC, inventor of the EnviroWash System and a pioneer in providing environmentally friendly closed-loop concrete washout solutions, today announced the unveiling of the new patent-pending EnviroWash concrete washout system (www.envirowashout.com).
Waste Crete Systems will showcase the new EnviroWash System at the World of Concrete 2008 Tradeshow in Las Vegas Jan. 22-25th at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The technology will be available for viewing at booth #N553 and at a 3p.m. press conference on Jan. 23, 2008.
The EnviroWash System exceeds current EPA “Best Practice” standards and is the only concrete washout solution that prevents nearly 90% of rainwater and groundwater contamination from concrete wastewater throughout the building process with patent pending closed-loop concrete wastewater recycling, treatment and handling technology.
Here’s how it works: Once removed, all concrete wastewater is treated and then reintroduced back into one of the EnviroWash units, which will then be used to clean concrete equipment over and over again. This process allows companies to reduce both the liabilities and expenses associated with onsite concrete wastewater handling while significantly reducing the amount of water used to rinse off concrete equipment “ready-mix trucks and concrete pump trucks“ at construction job sites, after they have emptied their concrete loads.
Rain contamination from the current type of EPA recommended washout pit can be reduced by upwards of 80-90% with the new EnviroWash technology. The patent-pending system includes a large hopper into which the ready-mix and concrete pump trucks rinse their equipment using water supplied by the EnviroWash unit then separates the water and cement fines from the rest of the ready-mix (rock, sand, cement). Afterwards the water is pumped into a forced weir filter system and then returned to the main hopper to be reused.
“ I created and tested the first prototype in October 2004 then continued refining the system. The hopper design and pumping system was perfected to optimize flow rates allowing water and cement fines to separate so that the trucks in real time can reuse the water,” said Ricki Abney, Sr, inventor of the EnviroWash and president of Waste Crete Systems. “This way the ready-mix and concrete pump truck drivers can utilize our recycled water instead of bringing their own fresh water, thus significantly decreasing the usage of fresh water to clean concrete equipment by up to 90%.”
